Ideas
Every year there are plenty of candidates who make various promises to the student body. Some are awesome but not able to be done; some we already do and people don't know; and some are fully manageable but never acted upon! I have lots of ideas about how to improve the school if elected President, but I want to do the proper investigation before I can promise results. What I can promise, though, is that if I am fortunate enough to serve I will do everything in my power to make things happen. In addition to everything on my platform, my hopes for next year include:
-Encourage SBA communications to be less frequent and on different kinds of mediums (not just Facebook)
-Increase SBA transparency by further publicizing general body meetings and making the agendas and minutes accessible to the public
-SBA allocation of funds should be a clear-cut process that is known to all, and budgets should be released to all orgs in a timely & organized manner
-Supplemental funding requests should have clear guidelines and expectations so that orgs can be prepared and know what to do in order to thrive
-SBA should adopt a formal policy for increased funding for joint events
-Implement a public event calendar that is easily accessible for orgs to put things on in hopes of reducing overlap for meetings and events
-Send out online feedback forms after events to find out what students enjoyed and what they would change
-Have physical feedback boxes places throughout the school
-Continue to diversify events offered by SBA Student Programming
-Increase the number of events not centered around alcohol consumption
-Increase the number and quality of bars & bartenders at Scarristers & Barristers
-Host a Research Expo at which professors would discuss their work with students, creating a bonding opportunity outside of class and office hours
-Pay extra attention to people and groups who feel underrepresented in our community
-Optional Retreat at the end of the summer/beginning of the school year shooting the hooch with the whole school
